Prof. Murillo Guimarães Carneiro is an Associate Professor at the Faculdade de Computação, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU). He holds a PhD in Computer Science from USP (2016), an MSc from UFU (2012), and completed a Post-Doctoral fellowship at USP (2021–2025). He was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Surrey, UK (2015–2016).

An IEEE Senior Member since 2020 and a two-time Google Latin America Research Award recipient (2020 & 2022), he coordinates AINET and is a member of the Graduate Programs PPGCO/UFU and PPGAIG/UFU.

His research focuses on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Graph-based Learning, Data Science, Network Science, and Bio-Inspired Computing, with strong applied threads in Healthcare (COVID-19, ASD, cancer, coma) and Finance.
